Summer vacation means bored children at home. I have joined the horde of parents who want their children to avoid using the gadgets for hours and hours. These devices are addicting and children have a hard time controlling themselves. If they are to use their eyes for something, I would rather they read books. My eldest, Ella, said that reading books without illustrations or pictures is boring... Until, she read Rick Riordan's The Heroes of Olympus series. She finished the five books this … [Read more...]
Appreciating Daddy, Cymplified!
Since it is still June, it's still Father's month, haha! A short but sweet post about appreciating daddy... And all the people (the moms, the siblings, the uncles, the aunties, the godfathers, etc.) who are like dads; giving guidance and sharing strength. To the dad who would not miss the birth of his child for work or for the world, who is there to ensure his newborn is well-taken care of right from the start. He is there when his wife is recovering... Providing her with everything she … [Read more...]
Gratefulness List at 37, Cymplified!

Appreciating the Uncomfortable, Cymplified!
We are not put in the world to be comfortable ALL.THE.TIME. How do we go about appreciating the uncomfortable? But, who wants to be uncomfortable, right? I know I don't! Most people, if not all, want to live a comfortable life. Parents, most of all, desire for their children to live comfortably. It would break their hearts to see their offsprings in an uncomfortable, if not, hurtful situation. There are many things that could make us squirm or cringe. Change could be uncomfortable. So … [Read more...]
Recap, Review, or Reflection? Cymplified!
Recap. Review. Reflection. Whatever. Blogs are expected to post a year-end entry or a reflection of the year that was, it seems. There are also some that look forward to the things that the new year will bring. The "one word" that will hopefully be the guidance to achieve goals. Shall I do a recap, review, or reflection? Or that "one-word"? Honestly, I do not know. Last year, I was reading a book called The One Year Love Language Minute Devotional by Gary Chapman. This was on top of the … [Read more...]
July Birthdays, Cymplified!
July birthdays this year are sentimental for me. The idea of celebrations excite me, yet knowing that two of my children will be older, tugs at my heart. Ten The eve of my eldest's birthday, I strung and stuck these words on the wall to surprise her when she wakes up. I made them with an electronic cutting machine! Here's the dainty girly cake we bought from Red Ribbon Bakeshop. It's our go-to cake shop. Then we celebrated during the weekend at KidzCity. We bought vouchers online from … [Read more...]
Family Getaway: Summer on Balesin Island, Cymplified!
Holy Week in the Philippines sometimes mean traveling with the family. This year was a local trip to Balesin Island. We still had to ride an airplane though. We were at the hangar before sunrise. There were more themed villages to see, like Bali, Phuket, Costa Del Sol and Balesin Village. There were fruit and flower farms, fish and aviary to visit, too. En route to Balesin … [Read more...]
