37 days post operation. So much has happened between my scheduled TT and today. It was such a whirlwind of health issues that I'm reeling from dizziness, figuratively and literally. Until recently, I'm dealing with elevated blood pressure, difficulty in sleeping, darts of pain on my wound, discomforts on my neck, etc. One time I had chills. The recovery seems so arduous and I'm in the trenches of it. This is my Total Thyroidectomy story. Don't worry, it's not gory. March 14, the day of … [Read more...]
And then…, Cymplified!
2025 begins And then, it's the new year. It's now the year 2025. I drank whiskey, and then it's time for the fireworks. Light rain fell down, while smoke rose up. We arrived at the relative's house, and then, it was time for dinner. Lasagna, fried chicken, sushi rolls filled my disposable plate. In between were conversations, words from a story, and a game of Bingo. And then, the holiday break was over and the children went back to school. They were in denial, even as school tasks piled … [Read more...]
Cooking with Teens, Cymplified!
I have talked about seasons before, and how I am learning to embrace the season I am currently in. Before, I needed to learn cooking for my babies as they turn six months and into toddlers. Now, I am in this season of cooking with teens, since I have three of them. why cooking? One of the important life skills is cooking. Being able to prepare food for one's self is necessary for survival and for thriving. I know we can always buy meal plans, but cooking helps save us money and helps us … [Read more...]
Down the Rabbit Hole, Cymplified!
Seventeen years ago, in the seventh month, I was nursing a slight cough, a surgery wound on my abdomen, and a newborn baby girl. Thus, I went down the rabbit hole of motherhood from which I shall never emerge. Long days of feeding, burping, diaper-changing, sleepless nights to eating solid food, first steps, toilet-training culminated in the schooling years. In a flash, she's a teenager and almost 20. WHAT?!😲 arts rabbit hole She grew up drawing... on paper, on walls, on her feet. Until … [Read more...]
A Little Life, Cymplified!
A Little Milestone One day in late May, the last time we set foot in the academy as the previous school year wrapped up was my youngest's Graduation. The day before that, my eldest kid had her Moving Up ceremony. These were milestones that we celebrated with food. On to the next level! Soon, all my kids will be in high school. Ruminating on it now, I think each person's little life is composed of a series of milestones and impactful moments. A little life that we might miss if we don't pay … [Read more...]
Merry Milestones of the Year (so far), Cymplified!
Note: This is the post about milestones of the year 2023 I was going to publish when life happened. Since then, other things have occurred. ~Cym, 2024 Graduation & Recognition Covid-19 has been taking a lot from us - numerous lives, the ability to lead normal, healthy lives (oi, long COVID), the opportunity to hold a graduation ceremony and other celebrations. In the year that my eldest was set to graduate from elementary, the pandemic hit. That was one of the things that made me sad. … [Read more...]
Last Chapter of 2023, Cymplified!
A day after Christmas day. How was your December 25? How's the last chapter of 2023 going for you? What happened? It felt like a long time, years even, have passed since I posted here. I was going to blog about some milestones, but then life happened. Hell week (actually, months) took place when the space we are living in had little to no water in October. That's when the renovation started, along with mind-numbing decisions being made and heartrending arguments. Now, there are parts … [Read more...]
