We are not put in the world to be comfortable ALL.THE.TIME. How do we go about appreciating the uncomfortable? But, who wants to be uncomfortable, right? I know I don't! Most people, if not all, want to live a comfortable life. Parents, most of all, desire for their children to live comfortably. It would break their hearts to see their offsprings in an uncomfortable, if not, hurtful situation. There are many things that could make us squirm or cringe. Change could be uncomfortable. So … [Read more...]
Recap, Review, or Reflection? Cymplified!
Recap. Review. Reflection. Whatever. Blogs are expected to post a year-end entry or a reflection of the year that was, it seems. There are also some that look forward to the things that the new year will bring. The "one word" that will hopefully be the guidance to achieve goals. Shall I do a recap, review, or reflection? Or that "one-word"? Honestly, I do not know. Last year, I was reading a book called The One Year Love Language Minute Devotional by Gary Chapman. This was on top of the … [Read more...]
Autumn in South Africa, Cymplified!
South Africa Although the lion and the elephant are two of my favorite animals, it's one country that I never imagined myself going. But, I am glad I grabbed the opportunity, despite the hindrances. Like the airport accidents going to South Africa and coming home. I'll gladly tell you about those incidents if you send me a message. :-) Traveling makes me realize that we are foreigners in other countries but we are all citizens of the same world. Because we all live on the same Earth, … [Read more...]
Inter-May-ssion {What’s That Word?}, Cymplified!
What is inter-May-ssion? I remember saying, in my previous post, that I wish I could press pause on May. It may look like I did because this blog was quiet for the whole month of May. There was a long inter-May-ssion. See what I did there? :-D What happened? Well... Cray-cray May! When May came in, our helper went out and had a two-week vacation. Hubby and I teamed up for the household chores. The littlest one's ballet classes were still ongoing. Nobody's going to stay at home with the … [Read more...]
Press Play On April, Cymplified!
It's as if I went on an intentional blog hiatus. Already, words and stories are building up inside my head, waiting to burst out through my fingertips. Press play on April In reality, there was a problem with my blog for days. Then, April rolled in and I became occupied packing for our family's annual trip. All the while, taking our youngest to her ballet classes at Ballet Manila... And getting back to good health and shape with the hubby. Learning ballet. #summer2017 … [Read more...]
Start Right Here, Cymplified!
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” ― Theodore Roosevelt start right here When I find it in my heart to do something, I agree that "the first step is always the hardest." "But, it's the only way to reach the second step," said Susan Gale. Therefore, I remind myself to start right here. Face that blank page. Paint that first stroke. Write that first sentence. It is scary to start something, which I have no idea what's going to happen to it in the end. Is it worth it? … [Read more...]
Value In Aloneness, Cymplified!
being alone... I don't remember going to the canteen by myself, buying my own food and sitting down to consume it alone, in grade two. It seemed that I was always with a friend, or a classmate, doing things together. Maybe I don't remember correctly. Although, I do remember that I mostly had lunch alone in college. When I wasn't part of a block anymore, I rode the jeep from one school building to another without a companion. I had a different schedule from the people I know. There wasn't a … [Read more...]
