When You See Mothers Hold It Together On Instagram, it might look like some mothers hold it together perfectly. They go traveling with their families to seemingly beautiful locations, they stroll down the mall and calmly shop. Other moms show their followers their fab finds, with their children smiling and looking like they enjoy what their moms bought them. Some mommies even look like they get enough sleep and they look good & fit. Each lifestyle is different and I'd hate to compare. But … [Read more...]
Chapter March, Cymplified!
A Late Start It had been fourteen days since Chapter March started, and I have begun writing the third chapter just now. Why is that? It could be that I was tensely anticipating the children's final exams. I so dread these three days of assessment. I could also be nervous about getting a Visa for an upcoming trip. Who knew it could be tedious and time-consuming? Mostly, I have my nose in a book. I finally finished George Washington and the Secret Six. Currently reading The Magic … [Read more...]
Embrace Women, Cymplified!
Embrace Women And Their Differences There are numerous kinds of women. There are countless combinations of personalities and preferences; not to mention race, culture and beliefs. Like flowers with copious species, women bloom differently and each is unique. The number of petals might differ largely or slightly, another might flourish facing the sun and the other blossoms embraced by cold air. Each with a different height and a different color and a different size. Like snowflakes that float … [Read more...]
Chapter February, Cymplified!
March starts with a recount of Chapter February. As I march into March with nonchalance as I kiss my children's cheeks before they entered school, I had a plan to post a few key moments of February. Come evening, I was suppressing a slight feeling of panic as I thought of the things I have to do before May arrives. It's also the month when the children will have their fourth quarter exams. It's always a stressful time for me. To nag and help my kids review. To print pages upon pages of review … [Read more...]
Long, Long Night, Cymplified!
What is worse than a long night of being sick, coughing and lying awake? It's a long night of my children taking ill; their foreheads, necks, backs and armpits hot with fever and their feet cold. Measuring out paracetamol for them to take every four hours. Sitting by them at the dining table, long after the meal was finished, to oversee them ingest every last drop of their antibiotics and other medicines. Here's another poem I wish to share. It's not an old one, I wrote it as a mother who … [Read more...]
A poem called “Our Love”, Cymplified!
When I was much younger, I loved to compose poems. Especially ones that rhyme. I have the notebook to prove it. As I read it now, they seem childish and shallow. But, it felt great to create and create, even without showing them to anyone. I didn't need any approval. Recently, when I write poems or draw or paint using watercolor, these ideas do not flow as well as before. There's something hindering me from even starting and taking the first step. Probably myself or the doubt that it … [Read more...]
Chapter January, Cymplified!
Remember my word for the year? It's 'embrace'. First up is to embrace my life's stories. One positive thing I gleaned from reading books is a desire to write one. To do this, I practice by noticing the details of my surroundings. It is helping me live in the moment more. Thus, I started with this chapter right now, Chapter January. Welcoming the new year with a... *cough*! It's January, the first week. The air is still cool, from the storm that visited the country last month, perhaps. … [Read more...]
