I love my children. I don't have to say why. It's more than a feeling a parent cannot deny. But, why the raised voices, empty threats and short temper? That should change, to be my children's Christlike keeper. That is why I attended the Yes Mommy Workshop by Optimommy Jayme. I want learn how to talk so my children will listen and understand. I want to communicate positively with my precious little ones. I want to shine as a mother. First, I needed to understand how communication works. I … [Read more...]
Goodness, Cymplified!
They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, (1 Timothy 6:18 ESV) See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. (1 Thessalonians 5:15 ESV) Since we are all created in the image of God, I believe that people are innately good. But, how to remain good is the question. Humans are like flowers. To bloom beautifully, they must be planted on good soil - good foundation, must be watered - soaked in … [Read more...]
Mother’s Day {2013}, Cymplified!
May 12 was Mother's Day and it got me thinking about... well, motherhood! Unexpectedly, I became a mom, thrice. But, that's the natural course of life after getting married and deciding to start a family, right? I should have known what to expect. Yet, nothing could have prepared me for the ever evolving and very challenging role of a mother. One minute I think I have gotten diaper-changing down pat, the next found me training the children to use the potty. I have long accepted that I … [Read more...]
Siblings Are For Loving, Cymplified!
They continue to boggle my mind, these children of mine. One moment they are laughing, the next they are crying. One moment they like the toy, the next they are hurling it across the room. One moment they are ready to nap, the next they would be wide awake. I sure love the moments when... Achi would build a toy for her shobe. Shoti would hug achi for no reason at all. Ahya would gently pat his shobe's head. Achi would give her shoti and her shobe each a smooch.* All three of … [Read more...]
Family Day Out: Fish, Nuvali and Tagaytay, Cymplified!
Thank God for Rix who went with the flow of my whim to visit Nuvali, Laguna. I have long wanted to visit the place. My family of five plus two helpers trooped to the South and got some sun while we fed the perpetually hungry fish. We also rode the boat for a bit of adventure. They have a trail for bikers, too. I wish I had googled the things to do in Nuvali and visited the exhibit there. I have just been reading about feeding the koi fish and mainly enjoying the outdoors with children. Then, … [Read more...]
End Of A (Breastfeeding) Journey, Cymplified!
Rivers of tears were flowing from her eyes and heart, at three in the morning. The baby in her arms was begging for breastmilk, crying and squirming. The only comfort they both knew, was taken away by the need for medication. She wished that for weaning a baby off breastfeeding, there was also education. Her chest was wrung and constricted with guilt and great sadness. The end of their journey was just beginning and already she felt helpless. Inhaling deeply, she said to herself, "This would … [Read more...]
