Goodness, Cymplified!

May 21, 2013 by ceemee

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, (1 Timothy 6:18 ESV)

See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. (1 Thessalonians 5:15 ESV)

good works glorify God

Since we are all created in the image of God, I believe that people are innately good. But, how to remain good is the question.

Humans are like flowers. To bloom beautifully, they must be planted on good soil – good foundation, must be watered – soaked in goodness from the Lord, dried leaves must be pruned – remove the negative & the bad, and must have ample sunlight – the Word of the Lord need to shine on us, in us & from us. I think that is how we keep the goodness in us. We need the Lord to continually empower us, for our own efforts to do good works are not enough.

Goodness is something I wish to instill in my children, for that is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. As a parent, I need to make sure they are planted on good soil, on good foundation by introducing the Lord into their lives. I also need to water myself with God’s goodness and prune myself of the negative attitudes if I want to be a good role model. To immerse myself in God’s Word is my goal, so I can shine better as a mom.

Do you have practical ways to teach and live out goodness? Please share in the comments. 🙂

Being thankful for what we have and appreciating God’s gifts above all is my way of showing goodness. I love to create positive vibes that will make people feel inspired with life. That’s what i teach my children, too.

agree, people should be good…kind to others
but there are people like the big capitalist and big landlords that are greedy and callous, what they think is profits and violates the rights of the Filipino people, especially the poor
