Happy new year! How's your 2015 so far? It's that time again for resolutions, goals, and that one word of guidance. I had my "one word" for the past two years. Technically, that makes it two words, right? They were shine and freedom. Both helped me become more intentional in parenting and in the way I want to live. Purge Before 2014 ended, I was already thinking about my one word. What will it be? My freedom was not yet achieved in the aspect of clutter of the home and of … [Read more...]
Sun-kissed In December, Cymplified!
December was a flurry of shopping and soirées, and sometimes, lunches. Add to that Ella and Caleb's Christmas break, and it had seemed that every new toy (gift) at home will be played with. Good thing there was a respite from "cabin fever", and this breather was planned by my hubby Rix. It was an out-of-town trip back to Pico de Loro. I was happy for the kids, because they could go swimming and play by the beach. :-) The hours waiting for the sun to hide before we could swim again … [Read more...]
Starting Christmas Traditions, Cymplified!
For this post, I teamed up with Patience Brewster to share my little list of holiday traditions. Patience Brewster is an artist and designer of holiday greeting cards and ornaments. Her Christmas ornaments are tastefully made and very inspiring. Christmas is all about family, and friends who are like family, next to Jesus Christ. Although it is fun to receive gifts, and we have an excuse to gorge on delicious food this season, I find it more meaningful to start our own Christmas traditions as a … [Read more...]
Kindergarten, Cymplified!
Last school year, Ella graduated from Kindergarten. It signaled the end of her preschool years. We might think that Kindergarten is all fun and games, just playing and singing. But, surprisingly, it's not. Believe it or not, Kindergarten gave my eldest a little taste of the real world. And it's not just more assigned tasks to work on. Ella likes to draw, My Little Pony characters specifically. Naturally, she does that in school during breaks or dismissal. One of her … [Read more...]
Family Getaway: Aurora Adventure {part 2}, Cymplified!
Ditumabo Falls We were told to finish our breakfast by 8 o' clock, even though we weren't planning on going on the trek itself. I was thinking that maybe I could just catch a glimpse of the falls... They were going on a trek to Ditumabo Falls dubbed as Mother Falls in Aurora. They were going to cross the streams with large, slippery rocks and maybe even wade through water. We climbed aboard the vans, around four for our large group, and cruised through coconut trees and rice fields. When we … [Read more...]
Family Getaway: Aurora Adventure {part 1}, Cymplified!
This was my last hurrah for the summer of 2014. I went to Baler in Aurora with my hubby and the kids, together with hubby's side of the family tree. A bus was rented and we were on our way on a 5-hour trip to the eastern part of Central Luzon. Before arriving at the place where we'll be staying, we stopped by a park where one of the biggest Balete trees of the country was located. It's called Balete Park. The kids got to see a 600-year-old tree! There were people climbing the tree when we … [Read more...]
Focus On Love, Cymplified!
She rolled to her right and opened her eyes. She sighed as she stared at the not really cream, not quite yellow wall. Bare concrete was exposed where a large piece of paint used to be. Cellophane tape held a couple of little paint chips that almost fell off. Smudges of discoloration drew maps on the upper part of the wall and lines on the lower part. Evidence of rainwater that once seeped from the ceiling down the wall was not fully wiped off. A lone hole made by a nail gazed back at her. The … [Read more...]
