Sun-kissed In December, Cymplified!

December was a flurry of shopping and soirées, and sometimes, lunches. Add to that Ella and Caleb’s Christmas break, and it had seemed that every new toy (gift) at home will be played with. Good thing there was a respite from “cabin fever”, and this breather was planned by my hubby Rix. It was an out-of-town trip back to Pico de Loro. I was happy for the kids, because they could go swimming and play by the beach. 🙂

The hours waiting for the sun to hide before we could swim again were spent playing in the unit where we stayed, with the toys they brought. I was able to squeeze in some reading, too, while sipping peppermint tea, 3-in-1 coffee or instant noodle soup. Sometimes, I just stopped and took in the sight and scent of the surrounding trees and mountains. Glad to have times of relaxation!

Before we headed home, we set foot on places in Pico de Loro where we haven’t seen the first time we went there. We crossed this bridge to get to the “island” on the artificial lake. The hanging bridge was very wobbly. I made the mistake of looking down and felt the bridge move, even glide, because of the current of the lake. TBH, I was scared!

There we snapped photos of the kids, our eldest shot one of Rix and mine, she also framed the various flowers we saw there. It was great to get fresh air and get embraced by a greener environment, even just for a while. It’s nice to have the garden all to ourselves that time. Well, except for the security guard who warned us that there’s a loose wood on the bridge landing. How thoughtful!

Pico de Loro definitely was still in the holiday mood. Here’s a photo I took while we were in the Country Club, checking in. A belated Christmas to you from us!

How was your December? Did you enjoy the holiday break?

Hope you have a promising new year ahead!

P.S. I wrote about my first ever Pico de Loro experience. We didn’t bring our bikes this second time, but we saw bike stands on the grass when before we didn’t know where the guard was referring we park. There were lots of people cycling about, too.

Our December was really demanding. We had a lot of activities at work, school and a lot of home chores. Our Christmas break was pretty exhausting but still I’m thankful to spend it with my husband and kids.

December was very busy but I was happy that the kids were able to join us for most nights of the Simbang Gabi. We were able to spend a lot of bonding time from the 23rd onwards.

    Happy New Year!

My December was a blast despite the stresses attached to it due to reunions, horrific traffic and never-ending spending. I was glad to make people happier too at this time of the year. I love the “mug and a view” shot. Happy 2015, Ceemee! 🙂

How wonderful that you spent Christmas away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis! This is such a good idea, especially to give the kids a moment to enjoy nature.
