book reviews a may bride

Ellie is a country girl in the city of Atlanta. Like any other girl, she also dreams of a perfect wedding with the perfect gown already in mind. Not unlike the wedding her baby sister Alexa is planning back home. Their single mom will pay for Alexa's wedding, but Ellie started her own wedding fund years ago. She only needs to find a groom. Ellie bumps into a man in a wedding she found herself in. She's noticed him around the neighborhood, but today he introduces himself as Gray Whitby. They … [Read more...]

Little girls should play with dolls and like the color pink. Little boys should play with cars and like the color blue. Is that what society dictates us to follow? If we don't, are we outcasts? Taboo? Abnormal? With my children, I am trying to do away with stereotypes and labeling. I don't consider it unladylike of my eldest to dream of being a scientist and to watch videos studying dinosaurs. I didn't make a big deal when my son got curious about Barbie dolls. They're free to explore and to … [Read more...]

Now 7, Cymplified!

now 7 ella's cake

Some families celebrate their children's seventh birthday in a grand manner. I never quite understood why, maybe I probably never will. That's why, it was as simple as ever in our home when my eldest, Ella, turned seven. Well, usually we make do with store-bought cakes. But, this time, I wanted to try custom cakes from a local baker. She and I went over the designs I wanted, especially ones that have rainbows and ponies on them. This was the outcome of the customized pony and rainbow cake made … [Read more...]

Ogalala System In Play, Cymplified!

August 28, 2014 by ceemee

As I have mentioned in my previous post - Two Kids in School, my little boy, Caleb, is a very playful one. It just dawned on me that that's how he learns, through playing. That is why I look forward to attending because I wish to learn about more ways to teach Caleb concepts while playing. I was also excited to gather tips on using his existing toys as educational tools. Having three children strongly affirms the fact that each child is unique and learns at his or her own pace. Ogalala System … [Read more...]

And then all three of them next year! So fast! I wonder what a SAHM does when all her kids are in school... Do things that contribute to fulfilling dreams? Get a job online? Finally clean up all clutter? If you are one and in this situation, please enlighten me. :-) Dear Father Time, Please slow down, especially where my children are concerned. Although it's physically tiring to be a mom of little ones, I enjoy this stage where I can still pick them up, hug them and plant kisses … [Read more...]

Gift of Guidance, Cymplified!

July 21, 2014 by ceemee

Being a mother, I am witnessing firsthand the fallen nature of humans. I see it in my children. When they grab a toy from their sibling's hands, they display inconsideration. When they complain of not having the toys they want, they show discontentment. When they don't do simple things for themselves and always ask someone else to get their cup of water, they model laziness. When they voice out that they are better than their peers and that their classmate draws ugly pictures, they speak words … [Read more...]
