Little girls should play with dolls and like the color pink. Little boys should play with cars and like the color blue. Is that what society dictates us to follow? If we don't, are we outcasts? Taboo? Abnormal? With my children, I am trying to do away with stereotypes and labeling. I don't consider it unladylike of my eldest to dream of being a scientist and to watch videos studying dinosaurs. I didn't make a big deal when my son got curious about Barbie dolls. They're free to explore and to … [Read more...]
Little Things, Cymplified!
When we adults are caught up in our grown up thoughts and dilemmas, it's easy to dismiss the concerns of the little ones. These may seem trivial to us, but to them, it's their whole world. Having children teaches us empathy, and when we empathize, we model this important skill to our kids. Little Things The little things of the little ones May seem little to us big ones But these little things are big things Like losing a doll or broken airplane wings These little things that make them … [Read more...]
Family Getaway: Pico de Loro Experience, Cymplified!
I guess I was longing for a summer getaway, that's why I found myself gushing and sighing over the Instagram photos taken at Pico de Loro by Martine. Or maybe I just wanted to head to Pico de Loro. Thankfully, someone close to my hubby, Rix, has a unit in one of the condominiums there. So, we found ourselves heading to our second destination for some summer fun one afternoon. Finding Beauty, Cymplified!
The city where I am located has many factories and manufacturing establishments, maybe even more than residences. The 3-storey house that I live in is old and signs of its age are showing in the cracks on the walls and other places. I am worried about the air quality of this city and also worried about this house falling apart. Often I would wish to move into a new home, a home of my dreams which would be a fine place to raise the children. But, for now, my desire would remain a wishful … [Read more...]
