A Little Milestone One day in late May, the last time we set foot in the academy as the previous school year wrapped up was my youngest's Graduation. The day before that, my eldest kid had her Moving Up ceremony. These were milestones that we celebrated with food. On to the next level! Soon, all my kids will be in high school. Ruminating on it now, I think each person's little life is composed of a series of milestones and impactful moments. A little life that we might miss if we don't pay … [Read more...]
Evoke Nostalgia with Plays.org, Cymplified!
Nostalgia What is nostalgia? Nostalgia, according to Google, is "a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations". So it means that nostalgia is not only remembering the past, but looking back at memories that make us happy. Reminiscing these make us smile and we somehow wish we were back in a simpler time. A time when we don't have a lot to worry about. What things evoke nostalgia for you? Nostalgic in … [Read more...]
Missing Chapters, Missing Pages, Cymplified!
It is now October. I believe I am missing Chapters June, July, August and September. My last entry was Chapter May. Chapter June: Aside from catching up on sleep because of jet lag, I caught up on my work like paying bills, writing checks, doing assigned tasks, etc. Since my coupon code for Photobook would have expired by the end of the month, I made three albums. These photos were from our family trip to Balesin last year, my trip with my hubby to South Africa (also last year), and my … [Read more...]
Family Day Out: Sweat It Out At Okada Play, Cymplified!
Summer vacation means bored children at home. I have joined the horde of parents who want their children to avoid using the gadgets for hours and hours. These devices are addicting and children have a hard time controlling themselves. If they are to use their eyes for something, I would rather they read books. My eldest, Ella, said that reading books without illustrations or pictures is boring... Until, she read Rick Riordan's The Heroes of Olympus series. She finished the five books this … [Read more...]
Family Day Out: KidZania Manila, Cymplified!
Kai! :-D That's how they greet people in KidZania Manila. At last! We got to experience KidZania just last year. It's the popular kids' play place that hit the Philippines in 2015. We bought a voucher from Metrodeal to get ticket discount for five people. Will the children enjoy? That was our first concern. That's why we didn't first get a passport yet. After trying out some establishments in the morning, we headed to the Pazzport Office to fill out forms, fall in line, pay and have the kids' … [Read more...]
Nickerbacher Chapter Book by Terry John Barto, Cymplified!
I first read the story of Nickerbacher, the funniest dragon as a picture book. It was a pleasant surprise to learn about the new Nickerbacher chapter book. At first, I thought it's a continuation of the picture book. Consequently, I realized that it's kind of an expanded version. There were still pictures; but the story was more in-depth. If you happen to be a dragon and you happen to want to be a comedian, then this book is for you! Seriously, this is a nice read for children who can handle … [Read more...]
Family Day Out: Quezon Memorial Circle, Cymplified!
Quezon Memorial Circle Several families had the same idea as ours. That is to bring the kids to Quezon Memorial Circle on Sunday. The last time I went there, my hubby and I bought plants for his hydroponic garden. The first time I went there was on a date with him as a boyfriend. We bought a pack of chicharon that had human-like hairs. 8-O It's surprising to learn of the many activities families could enjoy inside. This link take you to a closer look at the place. Who knew that this … [Read more...]
