How do you purchase the things that you need and want when you are a stay-at-home-mom with very young children, and it's very rare that you go out by yourself? And if you do, you limit your time so you could be home at the earliest chance possible? a. You ask your husband. b. You go online shopping. Most of the time I choose letter b. I do not want to inconvenience my hubby. ;-) I know that I said that I plan to own less and create more this year. In fact, I have already given away … [Read more...]

Birth Story Number Three, Cymplified!
Dear Cayla, You are now one year and almost two months old. Mommy is so happy to see that your confidence in walking all by yourself is growing. But, when you let go of mommy's hand, she felt a pang of sadness at how time flies and how both of you are leaving behind your babyhood. Maybe because you are their last child, their last baby, that she was feeling so sentimental. Mommy is torn between holding on to your hand or carrying you and letting you walk on your own, between keeping at nursing … [Read more...]
Joy, Cymplified!
Joy is often associated with feelings of happiness and with events that are in accordance with our delights. How can we experience joy when faced with difficult times? In my opinion, it is through hope. Under trying circumstances, deep joy comes with the hope that my help, my rescue will come because I trust in God's promises. This could be better illustrated with my breastfeeding journey. My "breastfriend" said that it would be easier for me since I am a stay-at-home mom. But, it was (and … [Read more...]

Mommy Treats, Cymplified!
I'm glad I got to experience Mommy Treats. Thank you, Ms. Paola for sponsoring a game in the baby shower at Medela House. I got to sample a week's supply of bite-sized cookies and muffins. I have to say they were yummy! I wasn't turned off by the supposed to be bitter aftertaste, which I found the strongest in the chocolate muffins. My favorite was the banana walnut flavor. When I felt a dip in my milk supply two weeks prior to this day, I ordered another week's supply of lactation treats. Of … [Read more...]
Breast Cancer Awareness, Cymplified!
This month, I am very aware of my breasts because I am breastfeeding my third baby. I haven't realized how much "beating" they were taking until now, when the tips are tender and a little sore. This is especially evident for me when I dry myself with a towel, extra care is needed not to hit my "girls", which is so darn hard! This is one of the reasons I am having a bit of second thoughts on breastfeeding. I have to admit, it is a difficult endeavor and it takes a lot of willpower to go on. This … [Read more...]
