new year goals
Greetings to you for the new year 2026 and the year of the horse! Another year! Do you have a new year’s aspiration(s)? For me, it’s the never-ending “lose weight” as my doctors all told me. But, the way to do this must be sustainable for me, and more than losing the weight is being healthy, and becoming strong. My ideal body is not the skinny one, but a toned, slightly muscular one. Plus, I want to be able to do push-ups.
another year, new habits
Lately, I try to always be mindful of what I’m eating, consuming fiber first. Next, the protein, and the carbs last. Fiber makes me full faster, thus, I eat less carbs and even lesser dessert in the end. After meals, I must not lie down, remembering to move, use my muscles ( I do some squats). Ideally, to walk for 10 minutes, they said. Who said? The “Internet doctors”. Ha ha!
You know, there are some things that we see online (where do you watch your content? I watch mine on FB reels and IG stories) that we can try without hurting ourselves or spending money. Like working out without any equipment (but always start gently), or different sorts of stretches (don’t overdo these), or 25 ways to do deep breathing. Also, some easy and healthy recipes with ingredients that we already have in our pantry or ref. Nowadays, we are bombarded with so much information and we must always remember that not everything we see online is real, especially with many using AI. People should learn to be discerning, filtering out the waste (of time). Children, who are impressionable, could benefit from guidance on what they watch, and to hold the info under the light of truth – God’s Word.
This year, instead of “just keep swimming”, it’s just keep writing for me. And to continue on reading. I was also thinking of taking up writing courses. What do you think? Do you have any suggestions?
a year after, feeling better
Today, March 15, marks one year of my Thyroidectomy. A year after. I’m grateful to the Lord for His healing hand and for carrying me through. I’m thankful to my hubby for taking care of me during and after my operation. It’s as if my (hopefully fading) scar was reminding me of its anniversary as yesterday I felt a bit of prickling around the site.

As the first quarter comes to a close, the world and country are becoming increasingly chaotic and dystopian. Violent conflicts happening in different countries greatly impact our economic, geopolitical, mental and emotional states. It’s hard to say what will happen next.
I believe this is the time to get closer to God through reading His Word and storming the heaven with prayers, prayers, prayers. We need His peace now more than ever. Anxiety lurks around corners, thus, only the Lord can fill our hearts with stillness. This is also the time to look for the beauty and joy in the everyday things; notice the kindness in people, for these sustain us, and help us be grateful.
a year older soon
Next month is my birth month. What can I look forward to? Or my wish list. Or things I’d daydream about.
- A pretty book that’s reminiscent of Spring – charming, magical, and has a lyrical prose. Please suggest a title. 😁
- A relaxing getaway or a lazing-around day having afternoon tea or coffee, with tiny sandwiches or pastries or cake.
- Spa and yummy food with my bestie.
- Bask in birdsong, sink my toes in sand, surround myself with trees.
- Anything Snoopy. ❤️
