Taking Gifting to the Next Level, Cymplified!

November 8, 2015 by ceemee

Taking Gifting To The Next Level is my entry to the Nuffnang and SM Supermalls blog contest.

In the blink of an eye, it’s November already!
Pretty soon, Christmas will arrive.
Silly me, I still haven’t put up the tree.
Yet, I have my list of wishes five.

First is one I want for a long time.
It’s a modest new home in a new place,
where there is fresh air sublime,
and a garden grows on lots of space.

The family cottage will be simple and cozy.
It will be furnished with a library of books,
with personalized items of the family,
with quirky and cheerful creativity nooks.

But, if I cannot have the new home soon,
maybe a few pieces for the house would do.
Like a new sofa set for the living room,
in black (again!), grey or midnight blue.

In the family library is the collection
on shelves so pristine and white,
of grown-up and children’s books in mint condition,
in uniform sets so colorful and bright.

For the kitchen’s sparse space,
I welcome additional storage and counter.
A movable one’s perfect for a small place.
For use on the side or in the center.

Gifts for my friends and family
will include useful things.
Like storage boxes but dainty and pretty,
to be stuffed with accessories or strings.

Like nicknames on their bags or towels,
or monogrammed stationery.
These are perfect for their travels,
and to reflect their personalities.

When we think of Christmas,
we also think of selfless giving,
to the less fortunate than us
whose even basic needs are lacking.

What can we do, then?
Share financially to charities.
Feed the hungry with a soup kitchen.
Give to those hit by calamities.

Here is a suggestion, too,
from SM Supermalls who care.
Get to make a child happy
when we buy a 200 peso bear.

taking gifting to the next level

It’s the SM Christmas Bears of Joy.
A campaign where various orphanages
will get the other stuffed bear toy,
to fill where comfort is a shortage.

We now have one bear to give
to our nieces, nephews, godchildren.
Another one to be received
by kids who would love them.

Have you shopped for gifts already?
In addition to gifts for loved ones,
let’s give to the poor and needy,
to make Christmas meaningful and fun.
