Goal Achieved: January Blog Makeover, Cymplified!

March 14, 2014 by ceemee

cymplified-quote-blogging

Ever since this blog started, I have been constantly changing its look to suit my taste and my desired functions. When I finally settled on the elements I wanted, I decided to employ the services of a professional to execute my ideas and my blog logo. My mind is finally free from wondering how to customize the navigation links, the widget headers and the social media buttons. I finally found a layout where my logo is visible, and my content is prioritized. I finally saw my dream blog makeover come to fruition. This was my goal for January and I’m happy to report that this goal is achieved. @PatFancyGirl installed the design before January ended. This is in line with my word for the year: freedom.

I attended Martine’s Blog Your Best Year workshop and it has helped me set my monthly goals: for my blog and in real life, and work on them since I am positively pressured by the monthly deadlines. I was also able to rewrite my mission as seen in my about page. I was excited to receive a blog critique from her at the end of the workshop and after completing a take home assignment. It’s perfect for my blog makeover because the content would then be more meaningful and cohesive to my overall look and message.

Martine’s blog critique is very helpful for a blogger like me because I get to live out my mission one post at a time through her honest assessment and practical suggestions. I now have ideas on branding, growing and inspiring as a blogger. What kind of content should I share? How do I engage my readers? I love how detailed the critique is and how the steps she outlined are actionable. I’m really happy I attended her workshop. I’m also thankful to my hubby for supporting me in my blogging endeavor. ♥

One goal achieved, what’s next? For February to March, I aim to clear up our writing desk and put the things we actually use. I am giving myself two months because I find it challenging to minimize and cymplify. I have accumulated so much and until now, I have a hard time letting go. Along with this is improvement of storage. I am sharing this infographic about reasons to clear out clutter that could hopefully motivate us who want to get organized.

de-clutter infographic

It sure feels great when we have attained our goals! I am excited to see the result of my next goal: a clutter-free space where I could draw, color and blog. Care to share what goals you have set this year that you have achieved? What other goals are you looking forward to accomplish?

Ceemee, I never knew there was a blog critique until this post! Can you critique mine too 😀 and in our recent correspondence, I agree with you that it is definitely hard to post something that veers away from your blog’s theme although monetizing it is a good means to earn on the side. Share naman… 🙂 I would love to be your first client!

Haha! I’m not the one offering a blog critique. It’s Martine De Luna! You would definitely benefit from her blog critique. You could even hire her as a blog coach. 🙂

I want also to grow my blog and I know that Ms. Martine is the best coach in town. Hopefully, one of these days I can brush my shyness away and contact her. When I am reading her post in her blog, I always learn something. Hopefully, even through that I can apply it to my blog. Good luck and God bless sis.

Goal for my blog, God willing, I would like to transfer my blogger blog to my hosting account. As of now, one of my two blogs is self hosted. But I am too afraid to do the transfer myself as I am really not versed about it. I would love to hire a professional to do it for me but it would be too costly. I have to save up for that so I could achieve my simple goal. 🙂

I love your blog’s new look, Fancy Girl Design is really good noh? 🙂
