Believe or not, I have never experienced (natural) contractions with my first two children while I was pregnant with them. Hence, I don’t know what a contraction feels like. Really.
Last Sunday was an activity-filled day for me. At 11 in the morning we attended a Thomas Train/Angry Birds- themed 1st birthday party. There were games, a host, a magic show – the works. Since Renaissance 3000 was near the party venue, we decided to drop by the Warehouse Sale part 2.
Beth was also there and she encouraged me to buy the Blissful Babes brand of nursing wear for just 250Php each blouse or dress. That’s pretty inexpensive! I also bought a feeding set for Caleb at 10% off.
Then, we left the kids at home and went to order the bed frames for the kids’ room. Afterwards, off to Manila we went to buy stuff for Aubrey, the dog. On the way home, we bought our dinner.
My “drama” started right after my evening meal, but I even got to change into my sleep clothes before I climbed onto the bed to rest. But, rest, I didn’t, as pain shot around my lower abdomen area and back. I didn’t even notice if my tummy was turning very hard, which was one sign of contraction. Seeing I was in so much pain, I was even looking pale, and thinking I might be going into labor, Rix brought me to the ER to be checked. For around 30 minutes, my contractions were observed. Concluding that they weren’t regular, my doctor suggested I be admitted for 24 hours for further observation. But we didn’t comply, so we just asked for pointers on what to look out for then headed home. I was ordered to have bed-rest and return for a follow-up check-up the next day.
I was not allowed to go on labor since my previous deliveries were via C-section.
I mostly rested on Monday and moved really, really slow. No contraction came upon me that day, but I did go for a check-up. Turned out, it was my last one, as the next time I’ll see my OB is when I will have my scheduled CS. *shudder*
