The first reason I snapped up a deal for an overnight stay in Hillcreek Gardens Tagaytay on Deal Grocer is because the room offered has two queen-size beds, perfect for our family of five… As of now. While the three of them could still fit in one bed.
The second is, I wanted a beautiful place for our wedding anniversary getaway. Hillcreek Gardens just screams romance! It’s a wedding venue after all.
There was even a garden wedding ceremony on the day we checked in.
Third reason is the price was under Php10,000 at Php6,800; and comes with breakfast for four.
It took us almost five hours to reach our destination, after several pit stops. The check-in was quick. Our room was located just a few steps away from the front desk. We were relieved to finally be able to lie down and rest…
Until late afternoon, that is. We drove to Twin Lakes to search for our dinner place. Surprisingly, we got there in under ten minutes. First, we walked around and the children recognized Taal Volcano. My hubby bought cold cuts at Santi’s deli; he’s a fan of those.
We finally settled for Italian cuisine at Buon Giorno, which I wrote about in a previous post regarding our family day out to Cliffhouse, Tagaytay. Maybe this is a new branch, I don’t know what happened to the one in Cliffhouse, and the pizzas changed from circular to rectangular.
We also had the roast lamb again, plus other dishes. Our bellies were so full, we had the rest of the pizza to go. There was, sadly, no more room for crepes. 😥
Yet… we had to have something healthy to munch on, thus, we bought a cucumber for our boy (yes, he ate one whole cucumber all by himself!), and green apples to share at the nearby Robinsons Supermarket.
As usual, I was excited for the hotel breakfast and hoped it wouldn’t disappoint.
It was a buffet breakfast in Hillcreek Gardens’ restaurant called the Blue Room. It’s a bright and cheerful dining room with wide windows that frame the trees on the property.
We took a corner table flanked by the two large windows, and this was the beginning of our DIY family photoshoot. 😀
But first, the kids had to take a dip and swim in the pool. Whenever I pack our things for a trip, I always include their swimwear, goggles and kickboards. Here’s a look at the pool area. Click the photo to watch!
Then, after we checked out, we strolled some parts of the grounds and posed for photos. Below are a couple of samples. I appreciate the children being game for this.
We had a wonderful time communing with nature and with each other. It’s one of the places we would gladly return to when given the chance.
