Motherhood Takes Courage, Cymplified!

Motherhood is not for the faint-hearted.

One has to be strong, to be courageous, to stand her ground in the face of equally strong tantrums.

The heart must be prepared for thousands of rejections, most of which involves food that the mother prepares, only for the children to spit it out and push the plate away.

She’s crazy to give up her time for her children, when sometimes, the children won’t give up their time to help her.

She works so hard to buy a desired toy, only to have it snubbed after just three days or even three minutes.

At times, anger grips her heart, making her explode and then it squeezes out guilt, a longing for forgiveness, for reconciliation.

The events of the world makes her fear the future and anxious for what lies ahead; yet she needs to stay calm, enjoy life, trust God and be the children’s rock.

Oh, and there is poop to wipe, there are boogers to pick out, and vomit to catch (yes, with bare hands).

Motherhood takes lots of love and courage.

Motherhood takes love to wake up each day and dedicate most of the time to the children, to keep her family healthy & content, to keep her attitude in check, to guide the kids, to teach them, to pray for them.

Motherhood takes courage to get through each mundane moment, each frustrating situation, each disappointment, each rejection, each craziness.

Motherhood is a roller coaster ride.

It makes one dizzy one minute, and exhilarated the next. It makes one claustrophobic of the dark tunnel one moment, and freely enjoying the wind the next. It makes one nauseated at times, and it makes the stomach tumble with joy at others.

Some days one could feel sadness and disappointment at the children that tears fall without warning. Some days the heart flutters because of happiness and pride of being the mother of these little ones. What an emotional roller coaster!

Motherhood takes lots of love and courage…

But sometimes, mommy runs out of both.

Therefore, motherhood takes lots of love and courage from God.

He never runs out of both. He is willing to let mommies take, they only need to ask and have faith that He will provide.
