Children need love and parents crave for respect, it’s as simple and complicated as that! Love and respect are vital in a family and this book tackles both aspects based on truths from the Bible. Love and Respect in the Family is based on Dr. Emerson Eggerichs’ and his wife’s parenting experiences and inputs from their children so that readers could get insights on the lessons they have learned and mistakes they have made.
My purpose as a parent is to lead my children to Jesus Christ. A parenting book that is based on God’s Word is a good guide to help me achieve that purpose. I have learned that as an adult, I am mostly responsible for stopping the Family Crazy Cycle, which is when children feel unloved, they tend to behave disrespectfully and when parents feel disrespected, they tend to react in an unloving manner. And then the cycle seems to never end. This book helps parents be proactive in stopping this cycle and therefore, refrain from exasperating our children.
Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Hi Ms. Ceemee, based on your review this book is really good. I’m going to check out the link in case I can avail a free copy too. Sometimes I feel guilty in parenting my kid, you know those mommy guilt feelings that we usually have when something goes wrong. I guess this book will help, enlighten me or guide me somehow. Sure we can have the Bible for reference, but sometimes we need someone to lay and explain the points to us further, just like this book. Thanks!

Love and respect, indeed these are learned and felt first and foremost in the family. We cannot hope to have a better tomorrow if we are unable to provide for these for all children.

This book is full of very useful knowledge of how parents want respect and children need love. Without love children react without respect, without respect parents act without love. Sounds confusing but it makes perfect sense.Tthis book ties in real life stories from the Eggerichs personal family life

They are free for me to review, I have to submit my review within 90 days (I think) before I could review a new one. I think for international bloggers they give out ebooks. Before it was a hard copy, now just the ebook.
