Faithfulness, Cymplified!

September 20, 2014 by ceemee

One of the characteristics of God that assures me of His unceasing love is that He’s faithful. Because of this, I can be strong in the Lord. My strength comes from God and not from my abilities. When I allow God to strengthen me, He freely demonstrates that He is faithful to me. Hebrews 10: 23, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”, tells me that God is faithful.

faithfulness

I can see faithfulness in God’s creation, in nature, as the sun always rises in the east.

Psalm 74:16-17

16 The day is yours, and yours also the night;
you established the sun and moon.
17 It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth;
you made both summer and winter.

Psalm 119: 89-90

89 Forever, O Lord, Your Word is firmly fixed in the heavens.
90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.

God’s love is faithful. Here’s a little prayer to thank Him for that.

“God, thank You for Your unfailing love and I ask of You to please help me love better.”

God empowers me to more faithfully love others.

Romans 8: 38-39

38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Since faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit, I must learn to be faithful. God has given me gifts and talents. He wants me to use them faithfully to serve God and others.

1 Corinthians 4: 2

“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.”

As a Christian, I need to show God’s faithfulness to others. My consistency in loving and caring for others will demonstrate God’s faithfulness to them.

1 Timothy 1:12

“I thank Him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because He judged me faithful, appointing me to His service.”

For me, faithfulness means that God is with me, whether I experience delight or sorrow, whether  I go through a meadow of light or a valley of shadows, whether I am in good health or not. From Him, I can draw peace and hope because He is faithful, His love is faithful.

    Remembered the song “Great is Thy faithfulness”. I may good or bad, happy or in sorrow or disappointed but Him up high will not change for “great is His faithfulness, mercy and love”. Mommy Cym thank you for an inspiring post, thank you for the reminder.

    Amen 🙂

    Romans 8:38-39 was also one of the highlighted verses in our church’s preaching last Sunday. Indeed, that whole passage is very reassuring – a reminder that no matter what we’re going through, wala pa rin yang sinabi kay Lord, and definitely nothing compared to the glories He has in store for us. Have a blessed morning!
