The alarm clock on my cellphone plays a piano riff at 5:30 AM.
I get up at 6. Or 6:30. I read my devotional and talk with the Lord. Then, I see to it that Ella is having her breakfast and goes into the shower after. When finished, she dresses for school. The two little ones then wake up and have milk sometimes, and then breakfast.
Conversations by the wooden high chair which the two young ones like and fight over. Food that isn’t finished, that I gobble up or that is spit out. What to prepare for lunch is on my mind, the result of not having a meal plan. I think I should address this so I could focus more. Had to be a little creative to incorporate food they like into veggie meals. Cooking toys, toy soldiers, action figures, stuffed animals, little plastic figures and doll-sized house & furniture. And, they also fight over these toys. Looking at pictures of books.
10:00 AM, Caleb, Cayla and I sing and dance to Hi-5. I love seeing them get their groove on. π
Morning snacks of cut up fruits. Feeding themselves using forks. Packing away to play with the other kinds of toys. Watching Princess Charm School for probably the hundredth time as it is currently Cayla’s fave. Pretend sword fights with Caleb, I am Captain Hook, he’s Peter Pan, Cayla’s Tinkerbell. Then I carry them and swing them around so they could “fly”.
Bath time after resting from lunch. And then it’s their nap time. My time to rest or do some other chores.
*ding-dong* Ella comes home from school at around past 3:00 PM. A little rest and then homework. Complaints of being tired, being sleepy or the assignment is hard are sometimes heard from the dining area where we study. I am learning, too. The Filipino alphabet has 28 letters now. When did that happen?
Sharpening Ella’s pencils. Her hand moves ceaselessly over paper or notebook with drawings of various subjects. Falling baby teeth, three so far. Teaching her to do stuff for herself because there’s no nanny to do it for her. These include getting a glass of water, looking for her things, dressing up, and packing away.
The schedule of my nanny-less week more or less looks like this starting last Tuesday when the yaya left.
I have decided not to hire a nanny anymore for the meantime. Why not? I want to get to know my children more. I am blessed I could do that. Isn’t that what being a stay-at-home-mom is all about? I want them to learn how to clean up after themselves and not depend on a nanny. And to learn how to wait for their turn. I know it’ll be crazy as they are still very young and needy. I also know I won’t be able to go out by myself any longer.
To celebrate a week without a yaya, I decided to take the two toddlers to Angel’s Town, a cafe here in our area. I treated them to muffins and calamansi juice. I don’t think we have stayed for an hour when they said they wanted to go home already. π

I commend you for taking care of your kids, doing household chores in between and managing to find time for your devotion π … Very admirable!
