I could feel the quiet excitement bubbling within me when I entered the OMF Literature bookstore on Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong City at around almost three in the afternoon of December 13, 2012. I hitched a ride with my hubby, I didn’t mind being early since it’s a bookstore and I could spend countless hours in it.
Did I ever tell you that I love books? I get giddy receiving new books and had to wait until I am relaxed and settled to start reading. The tips of my fingers get a little electrified with each new turn of the page.
I strolled the aisles of Bibles (so many designs that I loved, planning which to buy for Elle to call her own), about churches, daily devotions, about relationship with Christ, on marriage and friendship, on being a parent or grandparent, about work and, of course, the children’s section from which I bought most books. I love that there was seating available where I could browse through many books, I even read through all the children’s books before I made my purchase. I was also glad that there was a Christmas sale going on.
Why was I there in a bookstore far from home when I could go to the nearest one?
The real reason I was able to visit that wonderful bookshop was because of OMF Literature’s Bloggers’ Night where I was invited to, courtesy of my blogger friend in Christ, Christine Amador of www.mommyjourney.com, whom I haven’t met in person yet. I hope to someday!
It was only a few months ago that I learned about OMF Literature. They have been around for 55 years already! And to celebrate their 55th Anniversary, they launched 55 titles published as digital books to keep abreast with the times. Here’s the link to the list.
Remember my dream to be an author? That was why I agreed to go, maybe this could help fulfill it. I had the chance to meet some of the authors who graced the event, I had hoped to talk with them or ask them a few questions. I also love that they are a Christian company who aim to publish by THE Book, which is the Bible, God’s Word.
OMF Literature has so many books that aim to inspire, to empathize, to guide us and to speak to us with the voice of the Lord.
Note: Event pictures were taken with a Lumix.

I’ve been frequenting OMF Literature way back some years ago. Sometimes, they go on sale and I was able to buy a nice bible at a considerable discounted price. I could get lost for hours while browsing books in all the shelves.
Sayang, I missed that event last December. Maybe next time. π
