May is turning out to be not so merry for me. You know how helpers and nannies are “necessities” here in our country since I have very small children. Each one has her own drama and I was left with none. I feel stressed just thinking about the situation. I also am not looking forward to training the newcomers all over again.
I think I feel overwhelmed by:
Excessive responsibilities
Luke 10:40 (NIV) 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
Helplessness
Matthew 9:36 (NIV) 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
According to our Love Bible, I can help myself by:
Coming to God for rest
Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV) 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Giving all my cares to the Lord
Psalm 55:22 (NIV) 22 Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken.
Knowing that God loves me
Romans 8:35-39 (NIV)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Receiving the Lord’s peace
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Trusting in God who will not fail me
Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV) 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
I have to trust in God’s provision of household help, energy, wisdom and everything else that I and my family need.

I used to be so stressed with one nanny who replaced the other nanny that needed to go home. Grabe. When I’m so stressed and really irritated at her, I chose to be silent and not talk to her na lang. Good thing, we found a better replacement in no time. Thank God! 🙂

The truth, I feel tired. And maybe having to do all my responsibilities as a stay at home mom with 5 kids is really tiring. But I’ve always thanked God for seeing me through everything. I just have to keep on trusting and trusting. Thank you for the many wonderful Bible verses.

We really need God as our anchor for I know that on our own strength we will fail.
