Living in the city, in a very industrialized one, I perpetually long for clean air. That is why I sometimes bug my hubby to take the family to parks or places with grassy spaces where the children can run and inhale fresh air.
While I was carrying my baby and looking out the screen door to the balcony (no doubt dreaming of a country home with a porch and a backyard), I saw several Maya birds. With the severe lack of trees, and the noise pollution caused by passing tricycles and passenger jeepneys, it was rare to see that many. They were frolicking, twittering, and chirping loudly, as if angrily. The sight made me smile.
A bit worried about what the future may bring for my family financially, I took in the scene as a reassurance of God’s provisions flowing from His generous heart. I read somewhere that when we put our cares in the hands of the Lord, we must not check on them, but to have faith instead.
Matthew 6: 25-27 (NIV) 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
I am quite amazed that this gentle birdie reminder comes at a time when I need it the most. And this reminder comes with a lesson on trusting in God. Are you worried today? Look up and you might see a bird who has nothing but God.

I feel it sometimes too, I also lived in the city and all I can hear is the noise of the cars passing by and it would be good to hear something different like the noise of the nature, it brought calmness to our mind. thanks for sharing this wonderful verse. God is good all the time:)

I feel your pain. There are just moments when you feel so overwhelmed with possible problems that you don’t know what to do anymore. But just trust the God will provide for your needs. Don’t worry. Hard work and prayer works. =)
