Now 7, Cymplified!

September 2, 2014 by ceemee

Some families celebrate their children’s seventh birthday in a grand manner. I never quite understood why, maybe I probably never will. That’s why, it was as simple as ever in our home when my eldest, Ella, turned seven.

Well, usually we make do with store-bought cakes. But, this time, I wanted to try custom cakes from a local baker. She and I went over the designs I wanted, especially ones that have rainbows and ponies on them.

This was the outcome of the customized pony and rainbow cake made by Jacquelyn of Angel’s Town Cafe.

It was a school day and by way of celebrating there, she gave away chocolate walnut and chocolate chips muffins to her classmates and teachers. I love their muffins!

When she arrived home after dismissal, I went and picked up the cake from the cafe. Back home, we sang the birthday song to her and ate slices of chocolate cake with marshmallow icing and candy-covered chocolates.

She loved the cake, the design and flavor. Another pony toy was added to her collection.

Dear Ella,

You’re now 7! You are as colorful and amazing as a rainbow. Maintain your bubbly personality, your independence and love for God, us & animals. Keep growing into a compassionate, helpful and kind young lady. I’m wishing that your dreams will come true by learning and working hard. Maybe you’ll be an artist or a scientist someday. Whatever it is you want to be and what God wills for you, your daddy and I will support you. Keep dreaming and imagining!

Lots of love,
Mama

Raising her is like having a slice of rainbow, sometimes unexpected yet full of promise.

I love the cake! Cakes play a major part in birthdays that’s why I always have a say on what the cake would look and taste like. I was thinking of not celebrating my son’s 2nd and 3rd birthday but I always end up celebrating them. For his 4th, I was thinking of just getting him a cake and not celebrating. I hope I could control myself. Haha!

My side of the family is used to simple celebrations. Pero hubby’s family is too big, like 75 cousins who are really close. so even if we want a small party, it turns big. I hope I can manage the big party on her 7th birthday as our family is still growing. BTW, the cake is just too cute

Oh my gosh, I love, love, love the cake! I don’t know why it’s traditional to celebrate the 7th birthday in a more “bongga” manner din, but I certainly remember that the only time I was given a party when I was a child was when I turned 7!

me and my sister discussed something like this.. why do we celebrate 7th birthday in a bonnga way?? No answer.. we realized though, that since medically, kids are more susceptible to diseases 0 month to 5 years, we should be celebrating their 6th birthday!! sa wakaaas!! ligtas na (err mas maliit na ang chance) ng baby ko na magkasakit!! woohooo

oh wait.. baka naman noong araw, kids would usually die before 7.. that is why kapag umabot ng 7 ang bata bonggang paparti si nanay at tatay dahil sa waaaakkaaa! buhay ang anak nila! what do you think?

You know what mum, I am torn between bonggang party and simple one. I am not a big “party” person. I prefer intimate celebrations for my bday. But eversince I had a baby, I can’t help but go overboard! She’s 6 months now. I am still debating between a big 1st bday party or an intimate one. hahahaha! weird!

We always celebrate my daughter’s birthday in a simplest way with the family. I’m planning to have a party on her 7th though, but I’m aiming to have it in a very matipid way that’s why I’m going to DIY. Anyway, I still have 4 more years to prepare. đŸ˜‰
