2015 Planner, Cymplified!

This year, the planner I am using is the Starbucks planner. It’s a gift from my husband since he paid for most of the drinks, invited me to have coffee takeout sometimes, and even asked total strangers for stickers. I chose the brown one because it’s the only one with an embroidered cover.

It comes in a foil pouch, at the back of which was listed its contents and other uses for the bag. There’s even a best before date. Cute! After just a month of usage, though, the plastic coated metal wire closure thingy got broken. So, I don’t think I could use it as waterproof bag anymore. ๐Ÿ™

I like that it comes with a chalk marker in white, so to personalize the black rectangular nameplate bookmark at the top. The other end of this chalk marker has a coffee-scented highlighter. There’s also another bookmark called a pin bookmark, which I have no idea how to use.

There’s a cute page for customized “emoticons” to help “connect with memories”. The Valentine’s day, Mother’s day, Christmas day and other special occasions were already filled up for me. I drew a hairdo for one of the circles marking the date I cut my hair really short.

Starbucks planner

The mommy planner I had before comes with an expenses page, a menstrual tracker and space for the kids’ events and activities. I had to make do with the year view for the tracking, and the month view for the expenses, as seen below.

I did want to make this a personalized planner but there’s no crafty bone in me. I just made use of colored pens in metallic ink, for old times’ sake. I also wrote daily reminders or inspiration taken from my devotionals and everywhere else on the day view pages, which was reminiscent of the quotes by moms of the Mom 24/7 planner I had before. It’s also here I wrote the schedule of plans and activities, even for the children.

I then highlighted the events that we already attended! Just so I could use the highlighter, haha!

One of the things I like about this planner is that it has an almost blank page before the day view, for doodles. Plus, it has a part for notes at the bottom of each week for blog ideas or maybe contact numbers I need to jot down. Oh, and I like the expandable pouch at the back. Of course, the vouchers that come with it are a treat for coffee lovers!

See the chalk marker in action on the black paper when I open the cover.

Each month, the planner reminds me to connect. For February, obviously, it’s this…

This February… Share the love! A friendly reminder from #Starbucks #planner

Although I am very sad about the state of my foil pouch, I still like this planner. It’s simple and it encourages me to write.

I will definetly get a planner next year. This inspires me, since I LOVE Starbucks coffee. I think they are addicting and having a Starbucks planner is just awesome.

  2. I still don’t used the planners I had this year. This post of yours remind me to do a planner make over too. And I should do it ASAP before I get more crochet orders. Hehe.

    1. Planners are great for tracking your crochet orders!

  3. For the past two years, I received SB planner but I still prefer a small and slim planner so I can’t carry it everywhere if I need too.

  4. I remember using my SB planner for writing silly “continue-my-story” doodles with my husband. When we go out for coffee, we would write a few sentences and let the other continue the story, Most of the time, we end up with a few pages worth of funny stories. Those were good times. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. It’s been years since I really used a planner. I guess I have become used to just plugging into my head what I needed to do in the next weeks or month. My everyday life is really simple and it’s quite easy to remember the very special events.

  6. I use different colored pens for my planner too. I don’t use metallic ink pens though. I just use ordinary pens in black, blue, pink, green and purple. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also love the brown one because it has the most different look among the planner. I started listing down entries in the planner but as the moment, I ended up just scribbling if I remember writing on it! I now have an idea what to do with the emoticon page!

  11. I feel you sis. I also don’t have a creative hand so I also used colored pens. Well actually, I have a few stuff to decorate the planner but what I don’t have is time.

I also have the habit of enlisting my spending for the day. When I was in college, I would notate everything and used codes in case someone gets a hold of it and decides to look through the pages.

    1. Do you use codes for numbers?

      1. Ida

        Ooops I think I confused you ๐Ÿ˜€

I write my expenses too these days. When I was in college, I used codes instead of words and I created a long list of history for that.

  16. I really like to own an SB planner. It’s something I like to get but I couldn’t (unless someone gives me or I win a giveaway, hehe). I don’t drink coffee, which is why I can’t have it.

  17. I have this planner in red and I use it more than I use my day keeper. I decorated mine with washi and stickers. It’s fun to decorate this planner because most pages are almost bare.

Anyway, your husband is so sweet to buy drinks from SB so you can complete the your planner. Looks like you really maximized the use of your planner. It really helps to keep us on track.

  18. You are every organized. I used to have my own planner but I wasn’t that creative I just write my itineraries and other stuff with any color of pen depending on which I picked from my pencil case. LOL

  19. My hubby is a great fan of starbucks and he has several packages from them.
Your planner makes it look so easy and hopefully I should put this into action.
    Thanks for sharing.

  22. Honestly, I never had a Starbucks planner before or I won’t consider one in the future unless it’s a gift from someone. Collecting that much of a sticker and drinking a lot of coffee for the stickers is too much for our tight budget. I think I’ll content myself with the Mercury Suki Daybook. ๐Ÿ™‚
