This year, the planner I am using is the Starbucks planner. It’s a gift from my husband since he paid for most of the drinks, invited me to have coffee takeout sometimes, and even asked total strangers for stickers. I chose the brown one because it’s the only one with an embroidered cover.
It comes in a foil pouch, at the back of which was listed its contents and other uses for the bag. There’s even a best before date. Cute! After just a month of usage, though, the plastic coated metal wire closure thingy got broken. So, I don’t think I could use it as waterproof bag anymore. 🙁
I like that it comes with a chalk marker in white, so to personalize the black rectangular nameplate bookmark at the top. The other end of this chalk marker has a coffee-scented highlighter. There’s also another bookmark called a pin bookmark, which I have no idea how to use.
There’s a cute page for customized “emoticons” to help “connect with memories”. The Valentine’s day, Mother’s day, Christmas day and other special occasions were already filled up for me. I drew a hairdo for one of the circles marking the date I cut my hair really short.
The mommy planner I had before comes with an expenses page, a menstrual tracker and space for the kids’ events and activities. I had to make do with the year view for the tracking, and the month view for the expenses, as seen below.
I did want to make this a personalized planner but there’s no crafty bone in me. I just made use of colored pens in metallic ink, for old times’ sake. I also wrote daily reminders or inspiration taken from my devotionals and everywhere else on the day view pages, which was reminiscent of the quotes by moms of the Mom 24/7 planner I had before. It’s also here I wrote the schedule of plans and activities, even for the children.
I then highlighted the events that we already attended!
Just so I could use the highlighter, haha!
One of the things I like about this planner is that it has an almost blank page before the day view, for doodles. Plus, it has a part for notes at the bottom of each week for blog ideas or maybe contact numbers I need to jot down. Oh, and I like the expandable pouch at the back. Of course, the vouchers that come with it are a treat for coffee lovers!
See the chalk marker in action on the black paper when I open the cover.
Each month, the planner reminds me to connect. For February, obviously, it’s this…
Although I am very sad about the state of my foil pouch, I still like this planner. It’s simple and it encourages me to write.
