The Art of Storytelling, Cymplified!

I love reading! Stories transport me to places I have never been to, even to places that exist only in imaginations. I enjoy traveling without having to pack my bags and prepare my passport. Books give me a temporary escape from bittersweet reality. I also get to learn about new words that I look up in the dictionary when I don’t understand. I love shopping for books, even if I have several unread titles at home. I do think that one cannot have enough books!

I wish my children could enjoy stories like I do. I read to them a selection of books from our little collection, which I wish to grow as the kids grow, too. I love reading to them stories and making my voice animated to express what the characters are feeling. Stories are great for teaching them about Jesus, about the world, about good behavior, about feelings and how to address them.

One way to make books come alive and become magical for our children is to learn the art of storytelling. I’m glad there’s a workshop for that!

The Art of Storytelling workshop by Manila Workshops and GPG Bulilit Bookstore will be held on May 10, 2014, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Insular Life Multipurpose Hall, 12th floor Insular Life Makati Building, Ayala Avenue corner Paseo de Roxas Street, Makati City. If you are parents and want your kids to enjoy storybooks or if you are a teacher who loves telling stories to students, then sign up for the workshop here: The Art of Storytelling Workshop.

Oh, Kuya Bodjie! Brings back childhood memories, hihi! I love reading stories, too. Like you, it makes me imagine things and it also makes me feel like I’m transported some place else. I would love for my son to enjoy books and reading, too. I have been buying some for him and he’s happily flipping pages and ‘reading’ as early as now. 🙂

I love hearing stories from my Grandma since I was little kid and now that I have a kid they love to hear some stories and I always tell them same stories that my grandma used to tell me when I was little kid. This is great post, Sis and I’m sure it makes the whole storytelling fun and enjoyable.:)

  8. When I have so much time, I love reading story books or novels. I must admit I am not good in story telling so this one will be useful to me 🙂 I just wish I live in the metro so it will easier for me to go.
    Thanks for sharing sis.

  9. Wow! This is indeed a very good workshop! But this should be for us who are interested in story-telling! We have to see if this workshop fits the talents and the interests of our child before putting him/her to this workshop, although the exposure would help too!
